N-Cadherin Antibodies

GeneTex’s KO-Validated N-Cadherin Antibodies for Neuroscience/Cancer Research

The cadherin superfamily is a group of calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecules. They are important in the establishment of cell polarity and cell sorting during embryonic development. N-cadherin (CDH2) is named for its role in neural tissue, including neurogenesis, neuronal polarity, axon outgrowth, and synaptic plasticity. It is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the developing neuroepithelium, which will later differentiate into radial glia cells and give rise to neurons and glia. N-cadherin is also a typical marker for motile mesenchymal cells. Cells that undergo epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) commonly switch from expressing E-cadherin to N-cadherin. The upregulation of N-cadherin expression promotes cell motility and invasion, which is linked to tumor metastasis.

GeneTex’s neuroscience catalog lists an excellent selection of antibodies to detect N-cadherin for many applications and species. For a complete inventory of our neuroscience products, please click here or visit Genetex' website for details.

All Genetex products can conveniently be ordered in Switzerland though our webshop.
